Lemon Fruit Salad Dressing
Grandma's Grandma made this a staple at every holiday dinnr.
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup lemon juice Approx. 2 lemons
- 1 tsp butter
- Boil first 4 ingredients in a double boiler until mixture thicken. Stir often.
- Remove from heat and add butter.
- When cool refrigerate in a glass covered jar.
This dressing keeps a long time in the fridge. We use it on fresh fruit salad or a winter mix of frozen or canned fruit cocktail. Make sure you add the bananas right before serving.
